Mountain Magic: A Surprise Connection at Bighorn Sheep Lookout
I'd been dreaming of shooting at Bighorn Sheep Lookout in the Canadian Rockies for months, drawn to its breathtaking mountain backdrop and perfect natural lighting for couples photography. When I put out a model call on Facebook for an Mountain engagement-style photography shoot, Eric and Celeste responded - little did we know what a small world it truly is!
As we explored this stunning Kananaskis Country location together, capturing their natural chemistry against the majestic Rocky Mountain views, we got to talking. I mentioned my tall husband, which sparked a realization for Celeste - there was probably only one very tall teacher in their small Alberta town. The coincidence dawned on us all at once: we were actually next-door neighbors meeting for the first time two hours from home in the wilderness!
What makes this mountain couples session even more special is that Eric and Celeste had never had professional photos taken together before. Their authentic personalities shone through in every shot, from romantic poses overlooking the valley to playful moments that perfectly captured their relationship.
One of my favorite images from this Kananaskis photoshoot has to be Eric walking casually while sporting Celeste's cute hat and lugging her sizable suitcase full of outfit changes! It's these unscripted, genuine moments that make outdoor portrait photography so rewarding.
Thank you, Eric and Celeste, for trusting me to document your love story in one of Alberta's most picturesque locations - and for the unforgettable coincidence of neighbors meeting in the mountains!
